We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations across the region.
New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month.
And once in a while we will run a special niche 3 hour class, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Southampton Photography Facebook Group here to share your photos after the session.

Our classes and photography sessions are limited to a max of 5 students - due to current COVID restrictions

It was a very helpful session providing clear explanations and instructions on the basic use, set up and functioning on the Camera. I particular learnt a lot and felt that the practical exercises helped put the verbal suggestions into context.

I really enjoyed the event. I have not done much long exposure photography before so it was a very helpful session. Simon gave us clear instructions for the tasks, and he came round during each task to give feedback and advice on how to improve. It has definitely given me the confidence to go out and experiment myself.

Up to Simon's usual enjoyable and instructive session. No matter what the subject we always learn new techniques and new ways of looking at a scene. Simon took me well out of my comfort zone and I survived, and enjoyed it.

Good intro and advice.

I thought the event was excellent all round. Dave, the teacher, was incredibly patient and very knowledgeable with an ability to put that knowledge across in language anyone could understand. The location was really good as it opened up a range of different photographic opportunities. The length, and size, of the workshop was about right being able to cover the basics but without overloading on information.
