Lightroom Editing for Beginners - Soton Airport Meeting Room at 7pm
This 2.5 hour class will teach you all about how to use Lightroom as a powerful photo processing and editing tool. We'll be covering: how to import and edit RAW files, different file types and when to use them, photo editing and adjustments such as highlights, shadows and filters. • Please bring: your laptop (which must have Lightroom already installed) and your laptop charger.
£15pp
We have a different photo theme each fortnight and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations across Southampton and Hampshire. Great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the fortnight’s theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

I enjoyed the event and found it very informative. Street photography is a not a genre with which I am comfortable and it was reassuring to be doing it as part of a group. Excellent guidance from Simon. Good relaxed atmosphere.

Worked really well - Simon knew the areas well, and selected locations that gave a range of different shots to try. Helpful advice throughout, and the follow up session going through an example of image processing was great.

Both victoria & Simon are super knowledgeable and great at making recommendations about how to change the camera settings which is always appreciated when shooting in manual mode. The night time session was great fun - moving around to different locations kept the session interesting, providing us with various challenges along the way. Thanks guys!

Last nights event was very good. Safety in numbers when photographing city centres on a Saturday night is always advisable. Good to see new people on a meeting, hope everyone enjoyed it, I know I did.

Booking was easy, confirmation email and follow up email before the event. Good price. Convenient meet-up point and well structured 2 hours. Group of mixed abilities which was nice as we could learn off each other. Nice informal event which gives you confidence to move forward with your photography at your own pace without judgement on your skill level or snobbery about what equipment you own
